My little woods has its darker corners, some of the deadfall is impenetrable and the creek is deep enough to make sure you feel it's cold temperatures in all the wrong places ;) 20181230_151757.jpg

Well I just locked gaze with a coyote at about 20yds ... thankfully he booked before the dog spotted him, but Liko has his scent now ... better hook him up to the rope before I gotta go seek a vet on Sunday ...
    Later Predators ;)

Thankyou Sir. Yup it's a nice little woods. It's an old conservation area that the province let slide for a while.
It was pretty beat up from all the partiers and the mess they'd leave and neglect. We use to fill a small trash bag and haul it out of the woods every trundle we did there. My daughter and son in law stopped coming out here after their dog cut his feet several times on the busted bottles. It's good that the province has started to address this mess, they've been doing some cleaning up in here. The white tails, coyotes, turkeys and Beavers along with the rest of the forest creatures will be happy ... ;)

Great pictures thanks for sharing. I'm a dog guy myself and that's one fine friend you have with you. I'm the guy that goes to a party and spend more time playing with the dogs than hanging out with the "peoples".
Out where I am they'd be cooking Meth out in those woods and leaving either starting fluid & propane cans instead of beer cans. So I normally carry a little something just for the coyotes & meth heads, but I'm in northern Pa where we can still legally carry firearms, for now anyway.

There's a little fresh snow in the air and seeing the tracs is easy today.
There are lots of teeny tiny little hoof prints on the trails today, and I wasn't the only one who noticed.
Came across a big coyote print that was tracking the fawns prints.
We followed him for a while until he left the fawns trail. 20190303_161411.jpg coyote in the foreground heading right and the dogs print in the background heading left
    20190303_161452.jpg my boot is a 12 and a big Winter 12 at that 20190303_161520.jpg
    Liko's print for comparison
20190303_161602.jpg off into the woods he goes
