My buddy traps nuisance animals for the state.
He got this little guy this morning.

Does have that minky look, but those feet are huge! Almost otter like.
    Cute little gaffer.

It is a young Fisher. He released it, since it was not the animal he was after.

My buddy, the same guy who trapped the fisher and let it go, caught this doggy, but didn’t let him go.

    Gotta love that
Those freakin yotes usually go after beagles when guys are using beagles to hunt whatever they hunt with them.
I hate yotes, nice to see those hounds getting payback!

Can't argue they are beautiful looking animals. Too bad they are complete scumbags.

Even with these guys in the area I still find tracks everywhere when I was woods walking in the snow. A good friend of mine lost a couple lambs to them last year, not sure how shes making out this year.
They sure are crafty and can adapt to suburban life very easily. There will always be coyotes an cockroaches even after we've destroyed this beautiful planet we call home ;).

Bruce, thats great, but unfortunatly they probably only made a small dent in the population.
They usually have alot of pups a litter.

I agree, this area is so rural there's lots of room for them to hide & hunt. They'll be having pups soon around here and then they'll be hunting all the time to feed em. I usually see coyote's right around daybreak during spring gobbler season and try to wack em if I get half a chance.
